Do Bed Bugs Have Antennas
There are several key signs that you may have more than just one bed bug.
Do bed bugs have antennas. Adult bed bugs have a flat oval shaped body six legs each two antennae and do not have wings. Their body is flat and they possess long slender legs and an antenna. They even have irregular patterns on their body. Some common pests people mistake for bed bugs include cockroach nymphs carpet beetles and fleas.
Their antennae are shorter than their legs and have four segments. They have segmented abdomens with tiny colored hairs that give them a striped appearance. Bed bugs cannot fly and have short golden coloured body hair that can make their bodies appear to be striped. Cockroach nymphs are more similar to bed bugs because they don t have wings.
Bed bugs are oval shaped reddish brown less than 10 millimeters long and have six legs and small segmented antennae. Adult bedbugs are about a quarter inch long oval reddish brown and wingless. While a bedbug is at rest the beak lies beneath the body and projects backwards between the legs. Bedbugs are small flat and have oval shaped bodies.
The only similarity is that carpet beetles also have antennae and a hard exoskeleton covering their wings just like bed bugs. Nymph immature bed bugs are translucent in color. Bed bugs do not have wings and must crawl to get around. They also have wings while bed bugs don t.
